Default Three days backpacking - one 3 yr old, one 5 yr old, one Dad!

I'm super excited to be taking my two girls backpacking the weekend. It's there first time true backpacking. I'll be carrying just about all the gear, but they'll carry their clothing and maybe some snacks.

We're headed to Grayson Highlands. We'll get ther Friday July 15 and leave Sunday July 17. I can't wait for Sat when we wake up in our tent and go to sleep in our tent. It will be magical. Not sure how far we'll walk - that's irrelevant. Just Daddy and his two beautiful girls.

My wife will be home doing some painting - which she's excited about.

Deep Peace

A couple other things I thought of. Whistles each for emergencies. Ensure the older one knows how to call 911 on your cell phone. Find or borrow some cheap digital cameras for each to carry.

I like the idea of the camera, they won't be far enough away from me to need a whistle. 911 - I prob won't even bring the phone. I rarely ever do.

This sounds like a win-win situation.
When Mom, Dad, and the kids are happy the world is a beautiful place.
