Well, I am just back home in New Zealand. I did manage a few hours on the AT with my nephew. Went in at Gathland State Park, spent an hour or so chewing the fat at Ed Garvey Shelter and then went on in a brewing thunderstorm to ice cream at Harper's Ferry. Other adventures were almost stepping on a snake, getting a great view of the Patomac and meeting up with Len, a thru hiker who had the trail map tattooed in his leg. Are you still out there Len? Apart from the fact it was hot as stink, even the locals were complaining, it was a great trip and a great chance to indulge in the AT culture. It was great.

I put some pics up on Facebook if anyone cares to have a look. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?ai...3&l=98482467bb
