Default Baby Carrier B-packs

What are some of the brands and features I should be looking for when purchasing a backpack to carry a child in?

It will be used for very short day hikes. But it will need to have a bit of storage space. My daughter has special needs, so it has to have storage areas for equipment. Hopefuuly it could have a compartment about the size of a lunch box. .... I just want to get my girl on the AT. Even if its only a couple of hundred yards.

It's been a lot of years since I've carried either of our sons on my back, they're in their 30s now. But when thinking about a child carrier the words sturdy and stable both come to mind.

I think Kelty makes some. Are there any others? And yes, I do need sturdy and stable.

I hope you find something that fits your needs - I had one briefly for taking my son to Hawaii and we knew we were going to do some serious walking - never dreamed of going on trails but we did. Get the best padded belt for your hips.

Oh and as guy who lives on WB - imagine what would have been the replies had I posted the same question.....
