The Blueberry Patch Hiker Hostel in GA. THey served a most awesome breakfast! Scrambled eggs (REAL eggs), biscuits, pancakes with blueberry syrup, juice, milk, coffee; and plenty of everything. Very nice folks.

Default Favorite Resteraunt

Any place close to the trail! A hungry hiker isn't fussy, just not willing to walk extra.

Default Blue Mountain Summit Restaurant

When I passed by there last summer, the restaurant wasn't open. It's only open Thursday through Sunday. By the way, just beyond the summit are some really sloppy looking white blazes that mark the PA gamelands. Don't confuse them with the AT blazes.

Default Chinese Buffet in Waynesboro, Virginia

The Chinese buffet in Waynesboro was one of the best I've ever eaten at, on or off the trail. I don't remember the name of the place, but anyone in Waynesboro can tell you where it is (middle of town).

Another place I just thought of that's pretty good is the Italian restaurant in Boiling Springs, PA. I can't remember the name of it, but I think it's the only one in town.

That would be Anile's Ristorante and Pizzaria, just around the corner from the Boiling Springs Tavern.

My son hiked with me from Boiling Springs to Route 944 and we plan on doing the same section in reverse so that we can pig out at Anile's without any guilt.

Default restraurant

I should put in a plug for the Dutch Haus here. It's off trail a couple miles BUT, they provide lunch FREE to backpackers. Great place to stay too, only like 25 bucks to stay and 12 or so for dinner. No, I am not affiliated with the place, just had a GREAT experience there.

Other great restaurants

Smokey Mountain Diner in Hot Sprigs
Elms in Erwin
Waynesboro, VA had some great places. What's the name of the place there with the all you can eat pancacakes?

Chinese buffet in Gorham, NH

There are many others for sure, just can't recall right now.

Do that in the heat of summer.
When you get to Boiling Springs go over to the town swimming pool to use their showers to clean up, and cool off in the pool. As I remember, the fee was pretty reasonable.
Then head over to Anile's to pig out. Everyone there will appreciate the fact that you didn't come in straight from the trail...lol.....
