Great question, I'm heading to the Ice Age Trail up in Wisconsin this weekend. Got about 17 miles to do, but I have only Fri. and Sat., so its gonna be an out and back.

I'm just planning a local day hike up to the Pinnacle fire tower. Hopefully I'll get up there early enough to see the sun rise.

Default Hiking to a climbing spot

I am driving out tonight to camp and primitive climb at the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge in SW Oklahoma. Finishing my climbing instructor certification for the Boy Scouts for the next two years.

Quick hike on the AT S/B from Dalton to Lee MA with Iceman (GAME07).

Hiked in a couple of miles Friday nite then on Sat did 16 or so to hit the car.

Cold Friday night with a few flakes.

Going out this weekend for the first time since my "cascade" of injuries in early 2011. Will spend 5 days on the AT in Connecticut (where else) but will take time to smell the flowers ... no speed hiking for me this time out...

I love the Connecticut section of the AT. It has a very special place in my heart as the first time and place I experienced the AT waaaayyyyy back in 1978. Have a great time hiking!

Finally got back down to SNP to finish the last 4 pesky miles of the AT north of the Elkwallow Wayside.

Got poured on as soon as I finished the four miles and turned back to head for my car. Three-hour drive home with wet shorts and socks.

So we led our group Saturday into Sunday, then came out at Rt. 41 and headed down to Hoyt Rd. and hiked NOBO back up to Falls Village (out yesterday, Tuesday). Had planned to finish today but we decided to hurry up when my left boot sole broke in half! Thank God for duct tape!

Sheesh, backpacking is hard. I've been "out of action" for two years and felt every second of them. Finally started to get my hiking legs back yesterday, just in time to hike 13 miles through the downpour. Although I'd rather hike in the rain than not hike at all, I have to say, it felt pretty good to be home warm and dry last night!
